Job Role
- Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with relevant stakeholder
- Undertake cost analysis for materials, time and labour costs
- Negotiating and preparing contracts
- Assist in establishing the project requirements and undertake feasibility studies
- Performance risk, value management and cost control activities, procedures and reports
- Management of pre-contract activities that include: maintain sub contact, suppliers database
- Assess tender documents to ensure sufficient information available to prepare tender
- Prepare and issue sub contract enquiries and assessments of quotations and pricing for excavations, external works and landscaping
- Manage the finances for projects and regular reporting
- Ensure construction costs and production is managed with schedule, cost and budget in mind
- Identify, analyse and develop responses to commercial risks
- Prepare and analyse costing for tenders
- Analyse outcomes and complete status and gap analysis reports
- Maintain awareness of different building contracts
- Understand quality, health and safety regulations
- Provide coordination and communication with the Commercial & Contracts and the Project Control functions in relation to drafting tenders, assessing proposals, selection of contractors and in relation to any variation to the contract
- Collaborate with the Contracts function in order to review any variations coming from the contractor and plan how to manage them without impacting the project plans
- Provide advice to project team on commercial and contractual matters
Qualification, Experience & Skills
Required Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s Degree Civil Engineering or Construction Management
•Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyor’s (RICS) an asset
Preferred Experience:
•6-8 years of experience in an engineering role for a developer / contractor / consultant in a project management environment
Job Specific Skills:
•Excellent understanding of construction activities
