Job Purpose

The AVP – IT PMO is responsible for leading and delivering enterprise-wide business and IT projects aligned with the organization’s strategic objectives. The role oversees project portfolio governance, demand management, and execution, ensuring successful delivery through effective planning, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
The position also involves close coordination with third-party vendors and consultants, while providing executive-level reporting and leadership throughout the project lifecycle, including engagement with C-level stakeholders and steering committees.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project & Portfolio Management
• Define and execute enterprise-wide project management strategies and frameworks
• Manage end-to-end delivery of multiple high-impact IT and business projects
• Oversee project portfolio governance, ensuring alignment with strategic goals
• Decompose projects into work packages and allocate appropriate resources
• Manage project budgets, timelines, and deliverables effectively

2. Governance & Compliance
• Ensure compliance with internal project frameworks, SDLC policies, and procedures
• Facilitate governance across all projects and portfolio activities
• Promote awareness and implementation of enterprise project governance standards
• Escalate risks and issues in a timely and structured manner

3. Stakeholder & Executive Management
• Provide regular portfolio-level reporting to Executive Leadership Team
• Conduct Project Steering Committee meetings with C-level stakeholders
• Communicate project progress, risks, and changes effectively
• Deliver structured and impactful presentations to senior management

4. Planning & Execution
• Schedule, coordinate, and balance project activities to meet deadlines
• Manage cross-functional teams and collaborate with multiple business units
• Coordinate with third-party vendors, contractors, and consultants
• Operate in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment

5. Analysis & Decision Support
• Analyze information from multiple sources and resolve conflicts
• Translate high-level business requirements into actionable plans
• Provide insights into technological solutions and system capabilities
• Understand business processes, systems integration, and application architecture

6. Continuous Improvement & Knowledge Development
• Stay updated on industry trends in IT and Project Management
• Apply best practices in Agile and Waterfall methodologies
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the PMO

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
• Minimum 8+ years of experience in:
o IT Program & Portfolio Management
o Project Management within Consulting or Financial Services
• Strong domain experience in:
o Investment Banking
o Brokerage
o Asset Management / Capital Markets
• Preferred:
o Experience in launching Asset Management funds
o Implementation of Asset Management CORE systems
