Job Summary
The Procurement Manager is responsible for sourcing goods and services, managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring cost-effective purchasing aligned with organizational objectives. The role requires a strategic thinker with strong negotiation and analytical skills to manage procurement activities efficiently and ensure timely delivery of quality materials and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage procurement strategies that support business goals.
- Identify reliable suppliers, evaluate vendor performance, and negotiate favorable terms and pricing.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements during procurement activities.
- Prepare and process purchase orders and requisitions for goods and services.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring timely procurement to avoid shortages or excess stock.
- Collaborate with departments to forecast demand and plan procurement schedules.
- Evaluate supplier bids, proposals, and quotations to determine the most cost-effective and beneficial options.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other essential data.
- Resolve supplier or contractor grievances, claims, and delivery issues.
- Lead cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or timelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field (Master’s or professional certifications like CIPS, CPM preferred).
- Proven experience (5+ years) in a procurement or supply chain management role.
- Strong knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques and tools.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Coupa).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lead a team and manage high-pressure situations effectively.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with international procurement and import/export regulations.
- Experience in vendor management and contract law.
- Project management skills and experience handling cross-functional teams.
