Job Objectives

  • Oversee day-to-day quality control activities to ensure quality of the regular materials receipts are meeting the company standards.

Job Description

  • 5 to 8 years’ experience with at least 3 years of experience as Foreman or Lead position in a store of heavy mechanical workshop / ship yard / new building yard.
  • Experience in Oil & Gas / Offshore industry

Policies, Processes & Procedures

  • Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
  • Follow and comply to information Security Rules and data security measures in order to protect the company information / intellectual properties.

Day- to-day operations

  • Oversee day-to-day quality control activities to ensure quality of the regular materials receipts.
  • Inspect materials receiving at warehouse.
  • Perform joint inspection with client and project team on materials receipt as necessary
  • Identify and record discrepancies during the receiving inspection
  • Resolve the materials discrepancies in liaison with user department
  • Assist supervisor for resolving quality related issues in the department by coordinating with the relevant internal and external agencies
  • Assist supervisor for conducting trial / testing of new material both internally and with external agencies.
  • Oversee materials re-certification activities.
  • Prepare daily time sheets for the team and make sure overtime hours are controlled well.
  • Prepare job turn over for next shift and prepare daily progress reports for job done under his supervision.
  • Create progress reports on a daily basis and ensure that any significant information is communicated to the supervisor i.e. resource shortfalls, surplus, HSEQ concerns.
  • Work as a team leader responsible for development / motivation of sub-ordinates, on the job training and performance appraisal of the team members
  • Follow the day-to-day operations related to own job to ensure continuity of work.

  • Contributes to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of processes and practices taking into account ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.

Reporting

  • Assists in the preparation of timely and accurate reports to meet company and department requirements, policies and standards.

Safety, Quality, Environment & Information Security Rules 

  • Comply with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment
  • Follow and comply to information Security Rules and data security measures in order to protect the company information / intellectual properties.

Technical competencies

  • Sound knowledge of technical terminology, particularly which used in a marine environment
  • Familiarity with Materials standards/certification and Quality System
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications particularly in Excel & Word

Education

  • High school, Diploma in any Mechanical / Piping engineering or equivalent
