Role Summary

We are seeking a Senior Microsoft Stack BI Engineer with strong hands-on expertise across Microsoft BI technologies. The role involves designing, developing, and validating enterprise BI solutions using Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), and Microsoft Power BI.
The candidate will be responsible for building scalable enterprise data platforms, implementing Bronze, Silver, and Gold data layers, and delivering robust reporting and analytics solutions within an on-premises MSSQL environment.

Key Responsibilities
1. BI Architecture & Design

  • Design and document end-to-end BI architecture, including ETL pipelines, semantic models, and reporting frameworks.
  • Define scalable data pipelines and reporting standards for enterprise analytics.

2. Data Modeling & Transformation

  • Build and maintain Bronze (staging), Silver (transformation), and Gold (presentation) layers.
  • Implement dimensional models using Star and Snowflake schemas.

3. ETL Development

  • Develop and manage ETL pipelines using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
  • Implement full and incremental data load strategies for large datasets.

4. Data Analytics & Visualization

  • Develop advanced dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI.
  • Create optimized DAX measures, calculated columns, and semantic models.

5. Automation & Performance Optimization

  • Automate workflows and report distribution using Microsoft Power Automate.
  • Optimize SQL queries and SSAS performance for large-scale analytics workloads.
  • Use Python for data manipulation, automation, and integration scripting.

6. Documentation & Handover

  • Deliver comprehensive source-to-destination mapping documentation, including:
    o Primary Keys
    o Join Logic
    o Data Transformations
    o Data Lineage
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to ensure data accuracy and reporting reliability.

Must-Have Skills & Expertise

  • Advanced expertise in Microsoft SQL Server (complex SQL development, query optimization, performance tuning)
  • Strong experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) for ETL development
  • Hands-on experience with SQL Server Analysis Services (Multidimensional & Tabular) including cube design and tabular modelling
  • Advanced DAX and data modelling skills in Microsoft Power BI
  • Strong data transformation experience using Power Query
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Automate for workflow automation
  • Scripting and automation using Python
  • Strong knowledge of dimensional modelling and enterprise data warehouse concepts

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX or Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP data environments
  • Experience working on enterprise BI implementations
  • Exposure to ERP data integration and migration projects

Candidate Profile

  • 7+ years of experience in Business Intelligence / Data Engineering
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft BI Stack
  • Experience delivering enterprise-scale reporting and analytics platforms
  • Ability to work on-site in Dubai for the contract duration
