Job Description

The STP Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) at Aqua Treat Emirates Limited. This role ensures continuous compliance with environmental and health standards by monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting all plant systems and equipment. The operator
plays a key role in supporting the company’s commitment to sustainable water treatment and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor STP systems including pumps, blowers, screens, tanks, and chemical dosing units to ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and chemical components.
  • Record operational data such as flow rates, chemical usage, and system pressures, and report anomalies promptly.
  • Perform basic water quality testing and adjust treatment processes as required.
  • Identify and resolve faults in equipment and systems to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain cleanliness, safety, and orderliness of the plant premises.
  • Ensure compliance with UAE environmental regulations and Aqua Treat’s internal safety protocols.
  • Assist in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.
  • Coordinate with maintenance and technical teams for repairs and servicing.
  • Respond to alarms, breakdowns, and emergency situations with urgency and accuracy.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • High school diploma or technical certification in wastewater treatment, mechanical/electrical systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience operating sewage or wastewater treatment plants, preferably in UAE.
  • Strong understanding of STP processes including aeration, sedimentation, filtration, and disinfection.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and SOPs.
  • Familiarity with UAE safety and environmental compliance standards.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting
  • Physically fit and able to work in industrial environments and rotating shifts.
