Job Description
The STP Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) . This role ensures continuous compliance with environmental and health standards by monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting all plant systems and equipment. The operator
plays a key role in supporting the company’s commitment to sustainable water treatment and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor STP systems including pumps, blowers, screens, tanks, and chemical dosing units to ensure optimal performance.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and chemical components.
- Record operational data such as flow rates, chemical usage, and system pressures, and report anomalies promptly.
- Perform basic water quality testing and adjust treatment processes as required.
- Identify and resolve faults in equipment and systems to minimize downtime.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and orderliness of the plant premises.
- Ensure compliance with UAE environmental regulations and Aqua Treat’s internal safety protocols.
- Assist in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.
- Coordinate with maintenance and technical teams for repairs and servicing.
- Respond to alarms, breakdowns, and emergency situations with urgency and accuracy.
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or technical certification in wastewater treatment, mechanical/electrical systems, or a related field.
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience operating sewage or wastewater treatment plants, preferably in UAE.
- Strong understanding of STP processes including aeration, sedimentation, filtration, and disinfection.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and SOPs.
- Familiarity with UAE safety and environmental compliance standards.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting
- Physically fit and able to work in industrial environments and rotating shifts.
