Job description
- IT Manager is responsible for the supervision, implementation, and maintenance of a company’s computer, hardware, software, systems and any related IT applications and needs. Ensures the secure and effective operation of all computer systems, related applications, hardware, and software used within a company.
- Demonstrate a detailed knowledge of the industry’s best practices and evidence a professional track record of effective technical management, information analysis, and a thorough and extensive understanding of computer hardware and software systems.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Creating and implementing the organization’s IT policy and best practice manuals
- Design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedures
- Create policies and procedures and ensure they are implemented so that there is consistency in the use and development of IT Infrastructure services
- Lead IT development projects, including design and deployment of new IT systems and services
- Analyze business requirements by engaging key stakeholders across the organization to develop solutions for emerging IT needs
- Operate IT infrastructure solutions and manage and execute day-to-day operational activities in line with defined policies, processes and procedures
- Handle business-critical IT tasks and systems administration; manage and maintain the system performance at high levels and report any potential or existing threats or imbalances.
- Maintain essential IT infrastructure, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware, etc.
- Managing and reporting on the IT budget’s allocation; overseeing the annual IT budget and ensuring cost-effectiveness
- Organizing and establishing deadlines for major IT projects such as system updates, migrations, upgrades, and outages
- Evaluating technology risks to develop a network disaster recovery plan and backup procedures; audit systems and assess their outcomes
- Implement appropriate level of Business Continuity Management measures for counteracting interruptions to business activities
- Oversee datacenter management of IT Department, ensure security of data, network access and backup systems, preserve assets, information security and control structures.
- Performing routine system audits; generating performance reports for operating systems; running routine system operations reports; identifying problematic areas and implementing strategic solutions in time.
- Manage IT staff by recruiting, training and coaching employees, communicating job expectations and appraising their performance
- Train employees to use software and hardware; troubleshoot issues and provide technical support when needed
- Ensure compliance with Outsourced Software/Hardware and manage IT software licenses
- Monitoring daily operations, including server hardware, software, and operating systems
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies, hardware, and software; Assuring all IT activities are performed within the parameters of applicable laws, codes, and regulations
- Coordinating technology installations, upgrades, and maintenance; conducting routine evaluations of network and data security
- Selecting and purchasing new and replacement hardware and software, when necessary; tracking and maintain hardware and software inventory
- Analyze processes, technologies, and vendors continually to find areas for improvement.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- Master’s / bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience as IT Manager
- Applicable professional qualification, such as Microsoft, Oracle, or Cisco certification
- Proven track record and experience in managing IT infrastructure and services
- Excellent experience with computer networks, network administration, and network installation
- Proficient in computer hardware, cabling installation and support, wireless technology applications and interface, and IT security; in-depth knowledge of available IT solutions, and an analytical mind capable of solving complex problems.
- Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network administration and systems, databases, data storage systems and telephone systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows software, including server, office, and exchange
