Job Role
- The purpose of the Quality Assurance Officer is to ensure compliance with the CAA standards, and coordinate with the UK team to report the highest standards of academic quality and integrity in teaching and learning. This role is pivotal in aligning all educational activities with the academic standards set by the University and complying with local regulatory requirements established by the UAE Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) and the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA).
- The Quality Assurance Officer will develop and maintain comprehensive digital course files, manage bi-annual reporting, and coordinate the accreditation processes to ensure ongoing compliance and quality improvement. By implementing quality assurance policies, engaging with Academics and staff, and conducting thorough assessments of student experiences and course delivery, the officer will foster a culture of continuous enhancement in operational practices.
- Additionally, the officer will serve as a crucial liaison between local and UK academic teams, providing regular reports and insights on teaching and learning standards, while also participating in the development of key performance indicators. Through active representation at local accreditation events and a commitment to staying informed on evolving regulations and best practices, the Quality Assurance Officer will contribute significantly to the university’s mission of delivering exceptional educational experiences and outcomes.
Job Description

Reporting
- Develop and submit bi-annual CHEDS for CAA reports using appropriate software tools, ensuring accurate and timely submission to local authorities.
- Generate academic progress reports for Dubai/MENA students using digital portfolio tracking performance and identifying areas for improvement.
- Provide regular reports and analysis to the UoM Academic Quality Assurance team in the UK to ensure continuous improvement in teaching and learning standards.
- Contribute to the preparation of the university’s Teaching and Learning KPIs, including progress reports against set targets.
Compliance and Regulations
- Ensure all teaching and learning activities at the Dubai campus align with the academic standards set by the University.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with UAE Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) and Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) regulations.
- Develop a digital course file for all offered courses in compliance with CAA standards and ensure all data, including syllabi, assessment methods, student feedback, and teaching materials, are regularly updated.
- Prepare and manage submissions for substantive changes to local accrediting bodies (CAA).
- Liaise with local regulatory bodies such as the CAA and KHDA, ensuring timely submission of all required documentation.
Operational and Institutional Effectiveness
- Implement and oversee quality assurance policies and procedures, ensuring adherence by all academic staff at the UOM Dubai campus.
- Design and distribute online surveys to current students, alumni, and staff, collecting data to assess the quality of teaching and learning experiences according to CAA standards and UoM policies.
- Oversee the collection and analysis of local faculty members’ feedback on course delivery and other academic elements, ensuring consistent quality improvement.
- Assist in the continuous review and improvement of programs to maintain accreditation standards.

Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree: A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in education, management, quality assurance, or a related field is often required.
Certifications. - Quality Assurance Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA), or similar credentials can enhance qualifications.
- Accreditation Training: Courses or certifications related to accreditation processes (e.g., from professional bodies in higher education) are beneficial.
Experience
- Professional Experience: Prior experience in quality assurance, compliance, or educational administration, typically ranging from 2 to 5 years.
Higher Education Experience: Familiarity with the higher education sector, particularly in roles that involve accreditation and quality improvement.
