Job description

We are seeking a talented and motivated Web Developer to join our team and work closely with our IT Database Engineer to build and maintain robust web-based systems. The ideal candidate will have expertise in front-end and back-end web development using technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other tools to create user-friendly interfaces and ensure seamless integration with our database systems. This is an onsite role based in Abu Dhabi, requiring a proactive, detail-oriented professional who can collaborate effectively and deliver under tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Web Application Development
  • Design and develop web-based systems and applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks.
  • Create responsive and visually appealing user interfaces for both desktop and mobile platforms.
  • Build back-end services to handle data exchange and interaction with the database system.
  • Collaborate with the IT Database Engineer to integrate web application data with the database and ensure smooth workflows.

API Integration

  • Develop APIs to connect the web application with the database system, ensuring secure and reliable data flow.
  • Work on middleware solutions to handle data approval processes and interactions between the organization’s database and external systems.

System Design & Collaboration

  • Collaborate with the database engineer to design systems that align with organizational requirements.
  • Provide input on system architecture and ensure web applications adhere to performance and scalability standards.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize web applications to improve performance.

Testing & Maintenance

  • Perform thorough testing of web applications to ensure functionality, security, and reliability.
  • Maintain and update web applications to meet evolving organizational needs and technical standards.
  • Implement tools and practices for version control, backup, and recovery of web systems.

Documentation & Training

  • Document all development processes, including code, architecture, and integration methods.
  • Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders on using the developed systems.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in web development technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
  • Experience with back-end technologies such as Node.js, PHP, or Python.
  • Strong understanding of API development and integration.
  • Familiarity with database interaction using SQL or other query languages.
  • Knowledge of web security best practices and data protection standards.
  • Capability to maintain and define different types of users authentications and authorization of each user.

Collaboration & Problem-Solving

  • Proven experience working collaboratively with database engineers and IT teams.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues independently.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in web development.
  • Prior experience working on projects involving database integration is highly desirable.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with modern UI/UX design principles and tools.
  • Knowledge of front-end optimization techniques for performance.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Git for version control and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Certification in web development technologies or frameworks.
